Film Journal #2

   So far the thing I'm worried about is our film schedule. We start filming around 5:00 which gives us less time when we should be filming right after school. Though I'm afraid of that I'm sure we will make up for it by increasing our speed. Today was our first day of filming and we made pretty good process I would say. We did everything we needed to do for today and even had a little spare time left over. There were some problems like sun disappearing and reappearing in shots. Luckily we thought of something to fix that problem.

    The thing right now I'm feeling most positive about is our sound right now. We have most of our sounds down and we know how to make them. Another reason why I'm feeling positive about sound is because if we get stuck we could collaborate with other sound people to see if they have any ideas. Lastly I'm worried about wether or not the director and DP will get the right shots. They are very intelligent but they might break one of the film rules without knowing. So with that being said we as a group have to be focused and careful to make sure all of our shots are correct. 

Film Journal #1

     So far as a group we are making very good progress. We know all of our locations but we need to make sure we have permission for one location. We fixed all the times for shooting so it is easy for everyone to put it into their schedules. We are blessed to have everyone live close to each other so it shouldn't be a big hassle. One thing we do have to work on is fixing our script. There are some errors but nothing we can't fix as a collective group.  The good thing though is that we know who our actors are. Also we scheduled the days we will be editing and the days we will be doing the foley.

Embracing The New World

Today's subject will be related to my last post because recently I've been seeing a lot of technology changes towards the industry. There's a company in China that is known as Hollywood VIP  which is very similar to Netflix. Now the reason I'm bringing this up is because if more companies are creating services like Netflix where is the industry headed? Will TV get less and less popular while these companies get bigger? Luckily for Hollywood VIP they are getting bigger because they recently have said they will be getting Disney and Marvel films on their site. It was stated in the article that they have made deals with other film companies and so far everything has been a huge success. Now as a student this is kind of scary to hear became I feel like the industry outside of the US is getting stronger and bigger. Now as a whole the industry will probably be full on digital for the years to come. People who are older in the industry are going to be replaced by the younger kids which is good for me. Though it has it's negative sides because now people will leave the TV behind and go straight to their computers.

The British Are Coming

Today's post will about the rising of the Brisith film industry. Now if you're wondering why I chose this a student is because recently Hollywood has been having a lot of trouble. There have been many complications with taxes and also lately I'm not a big fan of everything Hollywood makes. So as a young adolescent interested in film why not get interested in a film industry that is thriving? Now the person who is claiming the industry is thriving is known for directing the films The Bourne Supremacy and United 93. The questions that I begin to ponder about this article is how long will the industry be thriving in film? Also is there specific parts of the industry that are exceeding or is just some parts in particular? The director also claimed that the industry is on a very positive journey but do you believe it will stay like that? Maybe I will even do something drastic like go to England to work and study in film. Though it makes me wonder how are the British going to compete with such a competitive market? They have to deal with the higher on ups like India and America so this will definitely be an interesting climb to the top for the industry.
